About this tag
The ROG Xbox Ally tag covers Microsoft's ongoing efforts to reshape Windows for handheld and docked gaming on ASUS devices. Recent updates include a major April 30, 2026 patch that adds docked-TV behavior, smart-TV gaming mode support, a Game Bar display widget, improved controller handoff, Auto Super Resolution preview on Ally X, and Bluetooth LE Audio voice improvements. Additionally, the Game Bar Gamepad Cursor feature gives the left thumb stick desktop navigation capabilities, part of a broader strategy to make Windows more controller-friendly. ROG Xbox Ally vs Steam Deck: How to Audit Game Compatibility Before You Buy

A game-library audit is a better starting point for choosing between an ROG Xbox Ally and a Steam Deck than a processor comparison. But an automated report needs careful interpretation: a Windows build is not a successful handheld test, and an Unknown Steam Deck rating is not a failed game...
