Hi all,
I solved my own problem but I thought that I would post the solution here. I did not see anything on the net for the issue I was having but I am sure it comes up from time to time.
I accidentally created a shortcut inside a folder to itself. I was clicking on the file path at the top...
I have three different OSs on my network: W7, XP, and 98SE.
My email program, Pegasus, is installed on the 98SE. I can run it on the XP computer with a shortcut that targets the address:
"\\Tower\D\Program Files\PMAIL\winpm-32.exe"
The same address run from W7 generates the following error...

Hello
I have noticed that the CTRL A keyboard shortcut has stopped working in all programs. I checked in word and it still has CTRL A listed as the shortcut for 'Select All". Any suggestions to help me fix this?
Thank you :p
Why would a program shortcut not work, yet clicking on an .exe file does? I tried deleting the desktop icon and creating a new icon, based directly on exe and yet any such shortcut I make does not work. I can see that the program is loading, but after a couple of seconds it quits. I was able to...
Hi,
My application previously works well in XP. When I run it in Windows 7, I am facing some issue with taskbar icon.
Please let me elaborate further. Let say the application executable is A.exe. A.exe can run on its own. It can accept some arguments e.g. "A.exe /B" and "A.exe /C". During the...

Hopefully this isn't as hard to explain or understand as what I've made it out to be in my own head.
Anyway... I am trying to create a shortcut to put my pc (W7 x64) into sleep. Every single how-to that I can find on the internet, however, puts the PC into sleep at BIOS level. It isn't the same...
Hi all,
I use wordpad 10+ times a day and what really bugs me (and I bet
I'm not alone) is having to everytime click twice the line spacing

So, there is the trick to make an .rtf file with, say, one space,
save it somewhere with all the formattings the...

Have you ever wondered what else lies under the hood of that new Windows 7 laptop you got recently? The clever folks at CNET have found a simple hack that will grant access to all of those options in one easy-to-set-up shortcut.

Hello everyone. Currently, from what I can tell, the only option to hide the gadgets and desktop icons is to right click, go to view, etc.
Does anyone know a shortcut for this or how I can hotkey it?
Thanks so much,
Austin
When you activate "Administrative Tools" to show up in Menu Start, you get this nice list of tools.
I am trying to create the same kind of shortcut there right under it, but looks like the area is blocked, you can't drop anything in this area of start menu, unless there is a trick to do it.
I...
After my upgrade to windows 7, I have lost the ability to send link by email and send page by email. I am using Outlook 2007 as my primary email client with IE 8. I can send link by email using FF, which pops up MS Outlook w/llink embedded in email. It just doesn't work anymore since the...

Probably simple but being a rookie;
