If I set my files to Sort by file type in Windows Explorer, is there a way to change which order the various file types are arranged in? I would like to have all of my videos and images together respectively; but currently my videos are sandwiched between different types of image file.

Is it possible to sort your folders alphabetically while at the same time sorting your files on date? I want to do this(see picture)

every single morning i have to right-click the desktop -> "sort by" -> "type" i know this is trivial and i apologize, but it's very annoying. all the icons are haphazard, scattered, whatever... isn't there a setting or something somewhere that'll save it's settings for the next boot?
