start folder

About this tag
The start folder in Windows has historically been used to place shortcuts to programs that should launch automatically when Windows starts. Users have reported that the traditional start folder may no longer be present in newer versions of Windows, leading to questions about how to configure programs to run at startup. Additionally, the term 'start folder' can refer to the default folder that File Explorer opens to, such as Libraries or Favorites, which can be customized via registry settings. Discussions also cover issues with Task Scheduler when running batch files from the startup folder, where tasks may execute but fail to copy files despite running with highest privileges.
