superadministrator
About this tag
The superadministrator tag covers discussions about the hidden, built-in Administrator account in Windows Vista, 7, and 8. This account, often called the superadministrator, has elevated privileges beyond a standard administrator account and is disabled by default. Users seek help enabling or disabling this account, changing its username, or recovering access when other administrator accounts are lost or corrupted. Common scenarios include a disabled superadministrator preventing login after a standard admin account is demoted to guest, or wanting to rename the superadministrator for clarity. Troubleshooting steps involve using Safe Mode, command-line tools, or system recovery options to regain administrative control.
