I had to do a fresh install of a domain controller with no system state or backups, but I do have the old SYSVOL folder. Can I copy that to the new install and restore the previous domain?
The system backup was created on a physical server 2016 Standard, version 1607. The restore is being done on a hyper v vm windows server 2016 standard, version 1607. The restore completed successfully but when i restart the vm it is not booting.
VMWare Guest running Windows Server 2016 fully patched as of 2019Sept24
Backing up from the cml fails with the msg "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax incorrect."
I have two local drive C and D. I'm trying to backup to Drive D.
Syntax: wbadmin start systemstatebackup...
Hi guys,
Today I tried to test backup/restore of single domain controller. The test was performed on virtual machine Windows Server 2012 with the following roles: AD DS, DNS, DHCP and Certificate Authority. Below are the steps I did:
1. Created backup of System state.
2. Deleted disk with OS...

Does file history also create a restore point?
It was nice to have that restore point to where is you blue screened you could reboot and restore to a recent, previous system state.
Doesn't really say anything in the file history settings page, and I'm curious.
Thanks for any insight...
I don't know if this is the right section for this topic but I downloaded a Kalyway OSX86 iso and when I try to install according to these instructions, I keep getting the following and it freezes:
