Needless to say XP is a very popular and remarkable operating system. One thing XP has definitely left to be desired is its looks. I think there is nothing wrong if we try to make it look more like 7. So, there are two ways:

Is there any way to prevent the computer from sleeping if high network or CPU utilization is occurring? In example, if a long download is occurring or if the computer is processing a video?

Well, darn. I did a search of this forum first before addressing my question. Got 11 pages of hits, but I still couldn't find an answer nor the actual question asked LOL.
Question. I like the Run command but with Win 7, it isn't part of the Start menu. I would like to "pin" it to Start. I can...
I have Windows 7 Ultimate built from scratch, (although this same issue happened before the rebuild, from an upgrade to Windows 7 Pro from Windows Vista); Windows 7 is build 7600.
I have a multiple monitor setup and Outlook runs on the r/h screen. When I use Outlook 2007, I click new mail, and...
This is more for the Windows developers than others reading this because I know I'll get alot of negative replies about me being a "high and mighty" Mac user. The truth is, I was a HUGE Windows advocate for years until a Mac came into my possession by mere chance. (My laptop died, I had no...

I installed win 7 recently, and have used both gadgets and rocketdock. I have set all 3 of my gadgets, and rocketdock to stay on top.
However, they don't always stay on top. After a restart, and every-so-often, other stuff takes over (eg firefox).
If I click on them, they then stay on top...

Hello, I hope you are doing well.
Whenever I check my Windows Task Manager's Processes tab, it looks like svchost.exe and MsMpEng.exe are hogging my system's resources. On average, each of those programs are using approximately 50k to 60k of memory.
I know that they are both Windows-related...

When I press the Start button, I would like to see "All Programs" opened directly (automatically). How is this possible? I've searched all day and installed some tweak programs but couldn't find the solution yet.
I have tasks that I need to keep running while I am away from the computer and they are getting locked up and not running everytime Windows 7 logs me out after 10-15 minutes or so.
So my question is, does anyone know how to stop Windows 7 from automatically logging you out? So I can stay...

I dont know if Windows 7 already has this capability but if it does I'd love to know how to turn it on. I just thought a really useful feature would be to make a window be always on top but be able to adjust the transparency of the window. This could be really useful if you were doing a task...

Hi All, I am wondering if it is possible to assign system resources to a specific task. The example that spawned this is that I am trying to extract a very large compressed file which is taking quite a while, and I'm not even touching my available system power (my rig has an i7 920, 12 gb of...
