In today’s fast-evolving Windows landscape, accessing the latest improvements before they officially drop has become the calling card of the true Windows enthusiast. One of the most popular methods to unlock these hidden gems is by using ViVeTool—a command-line utility that lets advanced users...
As much as I appreciate the advancements introduced with Windows 11, like any polished gem, it’s not without its flaws. In a recent article on XDA Developers, the author lists six essential tweaks that enhance the user experience, aiming to make Windows 11 feel more personalized and functional...

Hi everyone,
I recently made the switch from Windows to Ubuntu and I'm running into some problems with my graphics drivers. I have a high-end gaming setup, including a curved monitor that has been working perfectly on Windows. However, on Ubuntu, I'm experiencing several issues:
Screen...
Yuck! While I'm waiting to get the house network drops installed I turned on wireless. OH MY GAWD. I think a slug is slowe6 buy I'm not sure.
Can someone point me to tweaking the wireless settings so's I can at least get at least a reasonable wireless speed.

PCLinuxOS latest kernel, (5.2.14-pclos) is smooth and rocking on both my computers.
I have tried Ubuntu, Kbuntu, Mint, Mageia Linux, and more. I keep coming back to PCLinuxOS-kde . It is a Linux OS that is easy for a newcomer, yet crazy tweakable.
Does anyone hace any good about:config tweaks for speeding up Firefox, Chrome & Opera???
Unsure if the one's I know still work, as their anywhere from 5-7 years old now.
Thank's for any help.
I have to admit, I already installed tweaks already so I'll go through the flow.
program: Gnome Tweaks (installed automatically.)
I opened a terminal window and threw the command at it;
apt search Gnome-Tweaks
and what you'll find in return...

According to Bethesda, the recommended system able to use this high-res patch would be a six-core i7 and a gtx 1080 GPU. That's at 1080p, mind you. I'm presently playing @ 1440p, so my i7-6700k/980ti SC+ rig might be wheezing a bit much-nevermind the 4k monitor I have still in the box.

The intent of this post is NOT to open a debate on whether MS should or should not make Windows Update Automatic in Windows 10 TP.
The sole purpose is for users who still prefer to have the option of Manual update.
Go to regedit >
expand (click the pointer in front of ) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE...
Man would I like that....!
Windows 8.1 was/is getting me pissed off.
Am almost tempted to go back to my Windows 7 Professional. There are so many tweaks in win7 that I can't do in win8....grrrrrr!!!
Ok I have a windows system a reletively new one.

According to Microsoft Guru Mary Jo Foley a new update for Windows 8.1 is to be released this coming March. It apparently carries some small tweaks under the hood for better memory and storage use although some GUI changes are cited too. Read the article for yourself here...
I recently acquired a new SSD and found that the wealth of set up information out there can be at times confusing. Depending on what you read you'll be told to switch off this and turn off that. Luckily for us Windows 8 and 8.1 are SSD 'aware' and should change their settings automatically as...
In my blog today I discuss the tweaks between Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 for the start button/screen. I show how, in my humble opinion, Microsoft has successfully evolved the start menu for the desktop.
