About this tag
VueScan is a third-party scanning software frequently discussed on WindowsForum.com as a solution for older scanners that lack official driver support on modern Windows versions. Users report success using VueScan with Canon Lide 60, Canon Lide 100, Epson, and Microtek ScanMaker X6EL scanners on Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11. Common scenarios include scanners not detected by native Windows tools or other software, with VueScan providing a functional alternative. While VueScan offers a free trial, purchased versions remove watermarks. The software is often recommended for extending the life of legacy hardware when manufacturers no longer provide updated drivers.
