Hi, Windows 7 (32 bit) shut down and restarted on it's own 2 days ago and then completely shut down on it's own when I stepped away from my laptop the next day and again last night while I was asleep. Sorry, I'm not a programmer and am not sure what info. you may need to analyze this situation...

I just opened my "EV", and was surprised by all the warnings and errors that it has ! I never seen anything like this ! It looks as if the computer is barely working ! One of my top concerns was Kernal Power warning ! I will admit that i fooled around in the bios menu a lot and changed a few...
Link RemovedA recent report in the New York Times details a myriad issues that led up to the eventual explosion that started the mess known as the "BP oil spill," but aside from obvious mishandling of warnings and red flags, one particular issue was troubling those working on the Deepwater...
Hello! I was about to post a thread asking for input on something unusual in my Win7 Home Premium 64-bit setup when i came upon the Stickies here and started reading them. It looks like I need help with some basic stuff first! It looks like this:

I keep getting a message that says, "Updater Client stopped working". I don't care if the updater Client is working or not. I just don't want these warnings.

Every night I go to shut down my computer. But as soon as it seems to be finished powering down, the system restarts immediately. I have tried disabling automatic restart, but it doesn't seem to be a BlueScreen error issue, as I am not getting any BlueScreens.
Another possibly related issue...

Microsoft is releasing a set of tools aimed at detecting and undoing attempts to bypass Windows 7 anti-piracy checks. It's mostly meant for corporate networks, but the release is also intended as a security warning.
The toolset is an update for Windows Activation Technologies, one of the...
There are sites out there where ine can get burned and I got burned. So just letting you know. I will not name the site unless I get permission to but, it was really nice well set up site just about like Windows 7 Forums. Except this one sold software only. Naturally I purchased a week and...

Hi guys,
I have a nasty problem with my brand new Windows 7 Ultimate. Yesterday, I installed it on my desktop and it works perfectly, no single problem! Today, I install 7 on my laptop and installation doesn't cause any problem, so far so good. BUT, when I turn my laptop on, it takes more than...
I don't know about all of y'all, but I"m getting a lot of warnings and errors in the Event Log.... Some of which I'm not finding fixes for.
FIRST, is there SOME WAY to reduce the massive number of informational messages being constantly written to the log? Not to SEE fewer, but to actually...
I'm not very computer savvy, but from what I've read online, I decided to take a gander at the Events log on my windows 7 HP computer.
I saw the little red warnings and the red ! marks for everytime I had to do a hard reset with my 3 day old PC.
Before every shut down I got this warning...
Is there a place in these forums that'd be best for asking/talking about some of the entries that are showing up in the event viewer? I"m not sure some are specific to Windows 7, but I think several are related to something I probably need to set up/change, or whatever..... SO, here? Support...
What do you think the most desired / coveted window you can open in Windows 7 would look like?
I finally found it! And finally achieved it!
It may be easy for some people but for me it's been like the search for the Holy Grail
I'll attach the image... it's a copy of my Event Viewer /...
Am using the Windows 7 RC Build 7100 and the Aero theme for my desktop. Every now and again I get a warning that Windows has detected that my system is running slow and suggests that I use a less taxing theme. The problem is that my system is not running slow at all so the warning seems somewhat...

i had 352mb of free space and a zip file of 470+mb on the same hdd.
as i didnt need some of the files in that zip, i deleted them (around 50mb).
i did so directly out of winzip 10, which actually makes a new file out of the old
but without...
I was having weird system issues (mostly system freezes) with Win 7 RC x64 after doing an in place upgrade (build 7068 was rock solid) so I bit the bullet and did a clean install. Now 1 day later I have 10,000+ events in event viewer and still have random freezes. Most entries are either a...

I'm going to install windows 7 rc next week on a laptop using the advanced custom install with a full unpartion. Any worries as far as drivers. Will be doing without backup. Connection worries or anything like that?
I am not sure where to post this but will try here. As an XP user who is now trying the Win 7 Beta, I have found most things work well and software installation and configuration has worked for most applications. I set up Win 7 as a clean install on a second hard drive, thus creating a dual...
i dont know what change I may have made to my system but two days ago, windows security centre started showing me warnings saying:
