Background: I am a developer. I write Windows software for a living, have done for many years. And this problem has got me flummoxed :(
I've written a simple Windows service. It was working just great on Windows XP. So I ported the source code across and recompiled it. No problems experienced...

I use this program and it works fine. There is only one thing.
Today upon login, I received an PM from Windows Live Services... saying that I had to change my connexion name because of updates.
First am I the only one or many of you received it?
And how can I change this Windows Live ID...
Whenever I try to start/stop the windows update service it freezes the services window. Also when I click check for updates in control panel, it freezes the window.
