About this tag
A zipped folder is a compressed archive that reduces file size and bundles multiple files into one. On Windows, users can create a zipped folder by right-clicking a file or folder and selecting 'Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.' Common issues include WinRAR opening a random file instead of the selected one, or receiving a 'File not found or no read permission' error when compressing certain files like minidumps. Zipped folders are frequently used to attach diagnostic data, such as BSOD dump files, to forum posts. However, compressing media files like MP4s may not reduce size significantly with standard zip compression, requiring different settings or utilities.
