Pretty much If the “OPEN” sign is facing the wrong way, then the staff are well within their rights to clock out mentally and go full chilled-mode—coffee in hand, books piled up, zero customer service energy.
Also, honestly, that sounds like the best kind of workplace: if you can’t read the sign from outside, you don’t deserve a visit.
