VIDEO Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition GPU Review & Benchmarks vs. AMD RX 6600, A770, & More

Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition GPU Review & Benchmarks vs. AMD RX 6600, A770, & More In a recent review on YouTube, the Intel Arc A750 Limited Edition Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) was put through a series of benchmarks against its competitors, including AMD's RX 6600 and A770. The review highlighted the A750's pricing advantage, retailing at $290 compared to the A770's $350, suggesting that it could offer better value despite some lingering driver performance issues common to Intel's newer graphics cards.

Performance Overview

The Intel Arc A750 packs 28 XE cores and achieves 4,096 shader cores, making it a more budget-friendly alternative to the A770, which features 32 cores. When it comes to memory, the A750 holds 8GB with a 256-bit bus, while sustaining a thermal design power (TDP) of 225W. Benchmark Highlights:

• Total War: Warhammer 3 (1080p): The A750 achieved an average of 83 FPS, slightly lower than the A770 (90 FPS), but a substantial 33% better performance than the RTX 3050, making it a compelling choice for budget gamers.
• Rainbow Six Siege (1080p): Here, the A750 struggled considerably, even underperforming compared to older models like the RX 580.
• F1 2022: The card reached about 100 FPS average, leading again over the RTX 3050.

A trend was observed that as resolution increased to 1440p, the A750 began to perform better relative to its competitors, showcasing Intel's architecture strengths at higher graphic loads. At 4K, the A750 notably outperformed the RTX 3050 by an impressive margin of 32%.

The Driver Situation

One of the central concerns with the A750 remains its driver stability and user experience, historically marred by issues like the inability to control fan speeds or to navigate the user interface smoothly. Although some progress has been noted, many users may find this frustrating, particularly if accustomed to more established competitors.

Verdict

Despite its flaws, the A750 seemingly represents a step in the right direction for Intel's graphics division. For users seeking a cost-effective GPU that performs well in specific scenarios, it might be a worthwhile investment, especially for casual gaming or as a secondary card for enthusiasts. However, due to the persistent driver issues, it is difficult to fully recommend for mainstream gaming applications.
