Trump Cancels Visit To Britain Because He Knows He Isn’t Welcome In a recent video titled "Trump Cancels Visit To Britain Because He Knows He Isn’t Welcome," the discussion centers around President Donald Trump’s cancelled trip to the UK. The announcement came as the White House confirmed that Trump would not be making the much-anticipated visit, which had been the subject of speculation for months. According to Trump, the decision to cancel was due to his displeasure with a deal made by Barack Obama regarding the relocation of the US Embassy in London. He claimed that he believed it was a bad deal and did not wish to attend what he described as a "waste of time" ribbon-cutting ceremony. However, the video's analysis reveals significant inaccuracies in Trump's claims. Firstly, it clarifies that the decision to sell the previous embassy and construct a new one was made under President George W. Bush, not Obama. Moreover, it argues that the funding for the new embassy came from the sale of the old one, negating the notion of financial loss. The video further explores the reasons behind Trump's cancellation, positing that it was not so much about the embassy but rather a reluctance to face a potentially unwelcoming public in Britain. Reports indicate that Trump's visit was downgraded from a state visit to merely a working one, with no royal engagements and minimal official recognition. The narrative stresses that the British people did not want Trump to come, reflecting a broader sentiment of distrust and discontent towards him internationally. The discourse in the video calls attention to the disconnect between Trump's self-perception as a significant world leader and the reality of his reception abroad, especially in the UK. Overall, it suggests that the decision was made not by Trump, but rather by a consensus of British associations, clearly indicating that the host nation had little desire to welcome him.
