Trump: Mueller Better Not Be Looking At My Taxes! (He Is) In this intriguing video from The Young Turks, hosts Ana Kasparian and Mark Thompson delve into the ongoing investigation led by Robert Mueller concerning Donald Trump's financial activities over the last decade. The discussion centers on Trump's interview with The New York Times, where he expresses concerns about Mueller's scrutiny into his finances.
Key Points Discussed:
- Mueller's Investigation Focus: The video highlights that Mueller is reportedly examining Trump's financial dealings unrelated to the alleged collusion with Russia. Trump feels this focus is an overreach, suggesting that such scrutiny would constitute a breach of privacy.
- Trump's Financial Activities: Trump defends his business practices, particularly his property dealings with Russian buyers, insisting that he does not accept money from Russia. He cites a letter from a reputable law firm to emphasize his claims of legitimacy.
- Concerns Over Corruption: Kasparian and Thompson express deep concern over the potential conflicts of interest stemming from Trump's administration. They assert that Trump's financial transactions may lead to significant corruption and the illegal funneling of money.
- Foreign Investments in Real Estate: The hosts also discuss how foreign investments, particularly from entities related to Russia, are perceived as a way to launder money through inflated real estate transactions, which ultimately disrupt the housing market for average Americans.
- Calls for Transparency: The video emphasizes the necessity for transparency in Trump's dealings. It suggests that ongoing investigations should concentrate more on Trump's financial dealings rather than past political incidents, such as the DNC email controversy, to assess potential wrongdoing.
