Halo: Campaign Evolved will require Windows 11, 16GB of RAM and 100GB of free storage even at its minimum PC specification, according to the game’s Steam listing. The remake launches July 28, 2026, with Premium Edition buyers getting access from July 23.
The floor is higher than many players may expect for a rebuild of a 2001 campaign. Halo Studios lists an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-10700K, plus an AMD Radeon RX 6600, Intel Arc A580, or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super as the minimum graphics hardware. Those are paired with 16GB of memory and a Windows 11 requirement.
Recommended hardware steps up sharply: a Ryzen 7 7700 or Core i7-12700K, 32GB of RAM, and either a Radeon RX 9070 or GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. Storage remains 100GB.

The specs reflect the scope of the project rather than a lightly refreshed port. Steam describes Campaign Evolved as a modernized remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, with rebuilt visuals, cinematics, animation and audio. It also adds Operation: Meteorite, a three-mission Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson story arc, along with extra weapons, vehicles, enemies and gameplay modifiers.
Xbox Wire says the game supports cross-play and cross-progression between Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam and PlayStation 5. It is also due to arrive day one in PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate.
There are two important omissions from the published PC table: Halo Studios has not attached target resolutions, graphics presets, frame rates, or upscaling assumptions to either the minimum or recommended tiers. A machine that meets the minimum list should therefore be regarded as able to run the game, not as a promise of a particular 1080p or 60fps experience.

What Windows players should check

Before committing to a pre-order or clearing an SSD, check the following:
  • Operating system: Windows 11 is the only OS listed for both minimum and recommended configurations.
  • Memory: 16GB is the baseline; 32GB is the recommended capacity.
  • GPU: Older mainstream cards below the RTX 2060 Super/RX 6600 class fall outside the official minimum.
  • Storage: Reserve at least 100GB, with additional free space sensible for patches and temporary installation files.
The 100GB requirement is especially notable for a campaign-focused release, although modern asset quality and duplicated data needed for faster loading can make install sizes balloon. Steam also warns that downloads, updates and mandatory patches may need additional space.
The published requirements remain pre-release guidance and could change before launch, but Windows 10 systems and 8GB RAM PCs are already clearly outside the supported baseline.
