Windows 7 64 bit w7 will not capture video via 1394 firewire

Hi All,
Anyone experienced the same problem in that, prior to upgrade to w7 64 bit from vista 64 where all home video captured via firewire was fine.
I had previously updated all drivers regards the audigy sound/firewire card, (previously found the realtek on board sound caused premiere pro for example to crash and had defeated in bios), prior to upgrade to w7.
So, while all was well for video capture on 64 bit vista with the audigy card, I can no longer capture video using ANY software for video capture in windows 7 .. 64 bit.
I CAN DO THIS FINE IN WINDOWS 7 32 BIT and have spent DAYS .. trying the 64 bit system and possible variations.
ANY ASSISTANCE GREATLY APPRECIATED. OR PLEASE TELL ME WITH SIMILAR SET UPS YOU ARE SUCCEEDING OR NOT.
