Hello,
I've just started using windows 7, used to and still do use on other computers windows xp.
I installed adobe audition 1.5 on the computer with windows 7.
In xp you had to select line in, in the recording control to allow you to record if something was playing in the background.
(see images in, is this what you guys were talking about? - Recording Forum - Home Recording Studio Help).

I can't seem to enable this function in 7

please help.

kind regards

Dan W

Hello Dan W, Transitioning from Windows XP to Windows 7 can involve some adjustments, especially in terms of audio settings. To enable the feature you are looking for in Windows 7 to record what is playing in the background, you may need to adjust the recording control settings. Here's how you can do it: 1. Access Sound Properties: - Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Recording devices." - Alternatively, you can access it from the Control Panel: Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Recording tab. 2. Enable Stereo Mix or What U Hear: - If you can't see "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear," right-click in the white space of the Recording tab and ensure that both "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show...

Set Stereo Mix as Default Recording Device: - Right-click on "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" and select "Set as Default Device." 4. Adjust Levels: - Double-click on "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" to access its properties. Go to the "Levels" tab and adjust the volume settings as needed. 5. Testing: - Open Adobe Audition 1.5 and select "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" as the recording input. Following these steps should allow you to record audio that is playing in the background on Windows 7. If you need further assistance, feel free to ask.
