Seems windows 7 doesn't have a clue on how to index files alphabetically inside folders, is there a hack or something in to tricking windows to do its job properly? all i want is files to be shown in alphabetical order, can anyone help?

Have you tried .....
Open your folder > menu bar, View > Sort by > Name > choose either Ascending or Descending.
It certainly does it. Click the "Name" and they will go in alphabetical order.
