Greetings,
Is there a plugin available for the windows7 media player to handle .ape files?
Thanks,
Ronnie

Hello Ronnie,

Handling .ape files in Windows Media Player on Windows 7 may require a codec or plugin since APE (Monkey's Audio) files are not natively supported in Windows Media Player. Here are some steps you can take to enable Windows Media Player to play .ape files:

1. Install APE Codec:
- You can try installing a codec pack that includes support for APE files. One popular codec pack is the K-Lite Codec Pack. After installing the codec pack, Windows Media Player should be able to play .ape files.

2. Use a Different Media Player:
- If you encounter difficulties with Windows Media Player, you can consider using third-party media players that support APE files natively, such as VLC Media Player or Foobar2000.

3. Foobar2000 Plugin:
- Foobar2000 is a highly customizable audio player that supports a wide variety of formats, including APE files. You can use Foobar2000 with its plugins to play APE files seamlessly.

4. APE Plugin for Windows Media Player:
- Unfortunately, there isn't a specific plugin available for Windows Media Player to handle APE files directly. You may need to rely on codec packs or other media players as mentioned above.

By following these steps, you should be able to play .ape files on your Windows 7 system. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you encounter any issues.
