Morning All,

I have a Sony VAIO VPCF22CFX/B, 8GB RAM, 640GB HDD, Win7 Ultimate. I did buy it used & I'm sorta leaning toward HDD failure, but I figured I'd ask the experts. Enclosed is my file. Hopefully you guys can pinpoint the issue. Thanks for checking it out.

Oh, & on a POSSIBLY related note, the notebook won't hibernate without getting a BSOD. Again, thank you VERY much.

Solution
For starters:
At work we start all repairs with a set of diagnostics. Often they find problems that weren't even expected. It's a waste of time to try to fix software on a system that has hardware problems.
Please try these free diagnostics for starters: Link Removed
Also, please ensure that you have ALL available Windows Updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Only 109 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Bluetooth drivers aren't installed, please install them.

Remove the older version of Pinnacle Studio's Marvin Bus - it's a known cause of BSOD's in some Windows...

Remove the older version of Pinnacle Studio's Marvin Bus - it's a known cause of BSOD's in some Windows systems.

You MUST update the Sony Firmware Extension Parser driver. The 2007 version (which you have) is known to cause BSOD's on Sony systems.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
