I surrender. Thought I could take care of it on my own, no luck. The BSOD are random - doesn't matter what program is running, it'll even crash just being logged in. I keep a minimum running @ startup. My best case was no anti-virus & no Adobe products, I think that lasted 2 days. I switched from AVG to MSE. I checked the drivers listed in the log that had a 2006 date, but the actual driver properties say 2009.

Haven't done any hardware mods to this laptop, so I suspect it's a software issue. I did run CPU burn-in and memtest86 to see if it was hardware, but neither showed any issues.

RAM is set right, 800Mhz 6-6-6-18.

The problem is too many old drivers. Go to HP support to update them:

This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.

Arg1: 0000000000000000, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 0000000000000000, The address that the exception occurred at

Thanks for the feedback. I had gone thru & did Update Driver Software on all of my devices, but apparently the "checking online" part is useless. If you don't d/l it manually, it doesn't seem to be able to find it. Anyway, will let you know how it turns out, but I'm betting this solves it. Thanks again!

Ok, let's hope. Know it from my own experience, it is not easy to update notebook's drivers when it is years old. Good you're using MSE, with so many old drivers in the system it won't fall into bsods as often as other securities.

Well, glad I don't make it to Vegas much. Still getting crashes at about the same rate (1-3 times a day). The SF tool driver list output doesn't match what I find when I check drivers individually. I don't have time at the moment to go thru them all, but a spot check (especially the ones that show up as 2006 drivers) aren't correct - at least that one says it was modified 6/10/2009.
Anything else to check, or still likely a driver?

I'll go back thru & see if I can figure out a way to get the driver dates more accurate.

Here are the two. The first is almost immediately after I updated drivers, the second after 2 restarts. Thanks again!

Just a quick update: still crashing, but not as often. I had waited to see if the Win7 SP1 would help, and it seems to have done a little at least. Anyway, went back thru the drivers and found 2 more to update. Gave that a try tonight; we'll see what comes of it. But from my research, it seems like the Atheros Wireless driver is not a friendly guy.
