hey everyone, usually i can figure this stuff out on my own, im a technical computer science major, but right now im just stuck for once,

i have a hp p6520y quad core desktop which i purchased unmodified and working great, windows 7 home prem 64 bit

after 2 months of using the computer i upgraded to an xfx 7770 video card, and to a larger 550w logisys power supply.

after installing everything the computer crashes in games, deadspace 2 almost never crashes, max payne 3 crashes alot

sometimes it generates a bug error, and its always 0xa0000001 atikmdag.sys

i have removed and reinstalled many different drivers, and used driver scrubbers, with no change

but now my computer is crashing in games and i am getting 0x00000124 Hal.dll and
0x0000003b / 0x0000001e KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED ntoskrnl.exe

it just happened to me while installing a game, and it has happened to me in microsoft word.

i have all the bug files from the past month, and lot of reports, im just having a hard time sorting things out.

here is a list of crashes this month ( list is most recent to oldest )

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems.
Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Link Removed (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: Link Removed

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Solution
i have run 15 minute 1080 benchmarks, the video card is working perfect, not overheating voltages match those i find online, all data using gpu z and furmark match what i find from online benchmarks.

i only have the amd driver installed, no overclocking, no catalyst control center,

if i uninstall ALL AMD drivers, and restart i still get crashes, this was one of the first things i test, i used a driver wiper to clean all old drivers when i did this.

i will try to update all drivers

im starting to wonder if the PSU is underpowered for my setup, and is my culprit

Sometimes you can test the PSU by disconnecting some extra stuff that's not needed. Then, if the system is more stable you can assume it's the PSU.

Beyond that it's awfully difficult to tell if it's the PSU or not. You could purchase a new PSU from a shop that allows returnes (and your money back) and try that.

im updating/ uninstalling suggested drivers, i am uninstalling magiciso altogether,

i Cant locate AODDriver2.sys

the only driver that pulls up in the nonplug & play is with an A is amdkmdag and Ancillary Function Driver

is there any other easy way to uninstall the driver, i cant find it in a windows search either

just crashed again, i removed magicdisk now, and i am still searching for aoddriver2.sys

heres the minidump for it

also i forgot to mention, when i get BSOD, i generally have to power off the computer and restart it 2 to 3 times before the screen bring anything up, im not sure if thats a monitor related glitch or not

Don't worry about AODDriver2.sys right now - it may have been removed with the installation of video drivers at one point.
You can verify that it's gone by doing this:
If AODDriver2.sys is still present and the software/device isn't present and the driver isn't needed - then please do this (thanks to jcgriff2):
Bring up elevated Admin cmd prompt -
START | type cmd.exe | RIGHT-click on cmd.exe | "Run as Administrator" | type/ paste the following -
Code:
where /r c:\ /f /t AODDrive*.* > 0 & start notepad 0
It may take a few minutes.

A Notepad will open wth the results. That will state the location of all OverDrive drivers.
Please post the results in your next post.

The memory dump still points at video. I would suggest trying another video card. If you don't have access to another one, try purchasing one from a shop that will let you return it (and get your money back) if it's not needed.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

magicdisk is uninstalled now but the driver remans, i removed the driver from system32/drivers
but it still exists in system32/driverstore/filerepository << and i cant remove stuff from there

Don't worry about that just yet. We'll see if it shows up in further BSOD's
If it doesn't (or it doesn't BSOD) - then there's nothing to worry about! :0)

after uninstalling magicdisk i have not have a bsod yet, but i need to take the time to try a few games and see what i get. thanks alot for your help btw
