I have HDMI on my motherboard (along w/ DVI-D and VGA) I installed the disk that came w/ my motherboard (I had to run it in Vista SP1 compatibility mode for it to install). I have my Catalyst Control Center and the correct video drivers installed but my HDMI still doesnt work. I havnt been able to test the DVI so I'm not sure if that works either. I have a ASUS M3A78-T ATX AMD Motherboard. And the video chipset is a ATI Radeon HD 3300. I'm not sure is this is a windows 7 issue or if there is a problem with my motherboard. I was very frustrated when I couldn't get it to work on my TV and I really dont want to go back to vista . so if anyone has any suggestions please share. any help is appreciated

It seems like you are facing issues with getting the HDMI output to work on your ASUS M3A78-T motherboard with an ATI Radeon HD 3300 graphics chipset. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Hardware Connections:
    • Ensure that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both your computer and TV.
    • Try using a different HDMI cable to rule out any cable issues.
    []Check TV Input Source:
    • Make sure that the TV input source is set to the HDMI port to which your computer is connected.

    ]Update Graphics Drivers:
    • Confirm that you have the latest AMD graphics drivers installed. You can download and install...

    []Check TV Input Source:

    ]Update Graphics Drivers:
    • Confirm that you have the latest AMD graphics drivers installed. You can download and install them from the AMD website to ensure compatibility with Windows 7.
    []Check Windows Audio Output:
    • Sometimes, the HDMI audio output needs to be selected manually in the Windows sound settings. Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray, select "Playback devices," and ensure that HDMI output is set as the default audio device.
    [
    ]Check Catalyst Control Center Settings:
    • Open the AMD Catalyst Control Center and check the display settings to ensure that the HDMI output is recognized and configured correctly.
    []Test DVI-D Port:
    • If possible, test the DVI-D port to see if it works. This can help isolate whether the issue is specific to HDMI or a more general graphics output problem.
    [
    ]BIOS Settings:
    • Check the BIOS settings to ensure that the onboard graphics (ATI Radeon HD 3300) is enabled and set to the appropriate settings for HDMI output.
    []Compatibility Mode:
    • Running the motherboard installation disk in Vista SP1 compatibility mode may have caused some issues. Consider re-installing the motherboard drivers without compatibility mode to see if it resolves any conflicts.
    [
    ]Restart Windows Audio Service:
    • Sometimes restarting the Windows Audio Service can help in recognizing audio outputs correctly. You can do this by typing "services.msc" in the Run dialog, finding the Windows Audio service, and restarting it.
    []Check for Windows Updates:
    • Ensure that your Windows 7 system is up to date with the latest updates. Some updates may contain fixes for hardware compatibility issues.
    [
]Test on Another TV or Monitor:
    • If possible, try connecting your computer to another TV or monitor to see if the issue persists. This can help in determining if the problem lies with the TV or the computer. By following these steps, you may be able to troubleshoot and resolve the HDMI output issue on your ASUS M3A78-T motherboard. If the issue persists, there might be a hardware problem with the motherboard or graphics chipset that needs further investigation.
