COD WaW runs perfectly fine. Of course punkbuster doesn't recognize the OS, just like with the Windows 7 beta.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with PunkBuster not recognizing the operating system when running Call of Duty: World at War (WaW) on Windows. This issue with PunkBuster is common when using newer operating systems that weren't originally supported.

Here are a few steps you can try to potentially resolve the issue:

1. Update PunkBuster:
- Make sure you have the latest version of PunkBuster installed for Call of Duty: World at War. Sometimes, updating PunkBuster can resolve compatibility issues.

2. Compatibility Mode:
- Try running Call of Duty: World at War in compatibility mode. Right-click on the game's shortcut or .exe file, go to Properties, then the Compatibility tab, and select an older version of Windows such as Windows 7. This can sometimes help with compatibility issues.

3. Run as Administrator:
- Running the game as an administrator can sometimes help with compatibility issues. Right-click on the game's shortcut or .exe file and select "Run as administrator."

4. PunkBuster Services:
- Make sure the PunkBuster services are running. You can check this in the Task Manager under the Services tab.

If the issue persists, you might need to look for alternative solutions or updates from the game developers or PunkBuster to address compatibility issues with newer operating systems like the one you're using.

If you need further assistance or more specific guidance, feel free to provide additional details about the issue you're facing with PunkBuster, and I'll do my best to help!
