Solution
It seems like you are experiencing an issue with dragging and dropping files from an FTP program to the desktop on Windows 7. The behavior you are describing, where a folder is created but it appears empty, is not uncommon when dragging and dropping files from FTP programs. Here are a few possible reasons for this behavior and some steps you can take to troubleshoot: 1. Permissions Issue: - Ensure that the user account you are using on Windows 7 has the necessary permissions to write files to the desktop. - Verify the permissions set on the FTP server for the user account you are using. 2. Handling of Files: - Some FTP programs may not fully support direct drag and drop functionality for file transfers to the desktop. This...
This can lead to the creation of empty folders instead of transferring files. - Try right-clicking on the file in the FTP program and using the "Download" or "Save As" option to save the file to the desktop. 3. FTP Program Settings: - Check the settings in your FTP program to see if there are any specific options related to drag and drop functionality. Adjusting these settings might help in resolving the issue. 4. Temporary Workaround: - As a temporary workaround, you can try using an intermediary folder on your desktop where you can drag and drop files from the FTP program. This way, you can avoid the issue of creating empty folders directly on the desktop. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to check for any updates for your FTP program or consider using a different FTP client that may have better compatibility with Windows 7. Feel free to try these suggestions and let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any updates on the issue!
