Using Windows Mail, I had no trouble for a month or two after transition from ATT to to Frontier as my ISP... then (like many others) I started getting the dreaded 0x800CCC0F error `your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection', but onlt for incoming emails... sending was no problem (still isn't) and my emails came in in chunks once or twice a day, then stopped coming in altogether... I have been on several websites to try various recommended strategies (putting all emails into a temp folder and restarting the computer, checking incoming server and port) but nothing works... calling either Frontier or ATT is fruitless, they simply send me like a ping pong ball back to each other...the fact that I can still send, and that the emails come in ok to LIVE Mail (which I dont use, since all my working folders are in WinMail) is very frustrating...can anyone help? Im aware thiis is not just my problem...my OS is Vista Home Premium.... another strike against me...

Check Internet Connection: - Verify that your internet connection is stable and working correctly. Unstable connections can cause interruptions in receiving emails. 4. Incorrect Ports or SSL: - Ensure that the correct ports are used for incoming mail (e.g., 110 for POP3, 993 for IMAP). - If SSL/TLS is used by Frontier, make sure it is enabled in your email settings. 5. Test Email Account: - Create a new email account in Windows Mail and add your Frontier email to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if the problem is related to the account configuration. 6. Recreate Email Account: - Remove the existing Frontier email account from Windows Mail and add it back, ensuring all settings are accurate. 7. Email File Corruption: - Email client data corruption can lead to errors. Try compacting the email folders or repairing Windows Mail to address any potential file issues. 8. Contact Frontier Support: - Reach out to Frontier technical support for assistance with specific email settings. They might provide detailed instructions based on their server configurations. 9. Update Windows Mail: - Ensure your Windows Mail client is up to date with the latest Windows updates to address any known issues or bugs. 10. Alternative Email Clients: - Consider using alternative email clients like Mozilla Thunderbird as a temporary solution for receiving emails while troubleshooting Windows Mail. By following these steps and checking the email server settings, security configurations, and connection stability, you may be able to resolve the 0x800CCC0F error and start receiving emails smoothly in Windows Mail with your new Frontier ISP account.
