I receive this error message occasionally. Not even close to all the time, and when I do, if I immediately click the same thing as before, the app starts. Anyone have a clue? I'd just as soon do what I can to get rid of it.View attachment 39434

Chrome_elf.dll is an essential component for some Windows applications, and the error message is a sign that the file is corrupt or missing, which affects the program. Some users have encountered a chrome_elf.dll error, it occurs if a file has been corrupted or removed. However, multiple reasons cause the "CHROME_ELF.DLL" error message to occur.
In order to fix the "chrome_elf.dll was not found" error, you can follow the below methods,
Execute a System File Checker and DISM Scan:
- Firstly, press the Windows key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin).
- Then, type the command below and press Enter,

- Now, type the command below and press Enter,
Code:
sfc /scannow
- Lastly, restart the system to check if the issue persists.
Copy elf.dll into the Application folder of Chrome:
- Firstly, click the File Explorer taskbar button.
- Then, open Chrome's Application folder in File Explorer.
- The default path of it will be like this:
C:/Program Files(x86)/Google/Chrome/Application.
- Now, click the folder with the version title, i.e., "79.0.3945.130."
- Next, right-click on chrome_elf.dll and select Copy.
- Then, return to the Application folder of chrome.
- Now, right-click within the Application folder and select Paste.
- Lastly, open chrome from its Applications folder.
Reinstall Google Chrome:
- Firstly, open the Run command dialog, type appwiz.cpl and click the OK option.
- Then, select Chrome in the Programs and Features applet.
- Next, click on Uninstall to delete the chrome application.
- Now, restart Windows after uninstalling Google Chrome.
- Then, click Download Chrome to the latest version on the browser's installer page.
- Lastly, reinstall the chrome browser.
Register the CHROME_ELF.DLL file:
- Firstly, press the Windows key and type the command prompt in search.
- Then, select the Run as Administrator option.
- Now, type the below command in the command prompt and hit Enter,

regsvr32 CHROME_ELF.DLL
- Next, wait for Windows to register the DLL.
- Lastly, restart the computer and start the application again to check whether the error persists.
