It's the Countdown Show you've been waiting for... Schedule Builder is live on MyIgnite! In Episode 9, Rick and Joey demo Schedule Builder and great new filtering capabilities that will help you create your ideal conference agenda. They also unveil MyIgnite—a new tool that will be the digital hub to build your Microsoft Ignite experience. Think of it as your conference multi-tool, with more functionality coming as we roll on toward May 4–8 at McCormick Place in Chicago!

What is MyIgnite?
MyIgnite is a tool you can use before, during, and after the conference, with features that will continue to evolve as we get closer to the event. Current features include Schedule Builder, access to sponsor and exhibitor information, and the ability to update your personal profile and join the Yammer network. Future functionality updates will include the Attendee Directory, a meeting scheduler, and more.

If you haven't yet logged into ignite.microsoft.com and associated your Windows Live ID with your Microsoft Ignite registration (for example, if you were registered by a group administrator), you'll need to do so in order to experience the full functionality of MyIgnite. Go to ignite.microsoft.com, click on "I've already registered," then follow the steps to associate your Live ID with your registration. Once you've done this, you're ready to dive into Schedule Builder.

Schedule Builder, live on MyIgnite
Planning your schedule by selecting the sessions you want to attend—ahead of time—is critical to getting the most out of your Microsoft Ignite experience. Fortunately, there's Schedule Builder, with robust, dynamic filtering capabilities that allow you to search for the content you need and add sessions to your own personal session schedule. Rick and Joey show you how to use the filters, find and add sessions to your calendar, and offer scheduling tips, like:

Hot Tip #1: Schedule more than one session per timeslot! While you can't be in two places at once, you'll want to have some flexibility in your schedule. You may arrive to find a session room is full, or a conversation or session earlier in the day may leave you wanting more on that topic. After the conference, you can watch the "alternate" sessions you missed on-demand.

Hot Tip #2: Hands-on Labs are self-paced, so you'll add them to your calendar at a timeslot you choose. Work them into your schedule around must-see sessions on your list.

Create your schedule now, export and print it later.
Using Schedule Builder helps us place sessions in rooms. We encourage you to dive into the catalog and create your own schedule. Based on your selections, we can determine what sessions will be most popular, schedule them into rooms, and plan for repeats. Once rooms are associated to sessions in the catalog, you'll be able to export your schedule to your calendar and print it out.

Remember, adding a session or lab to your agenda does not guarantee you a seat in the room. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Update your attendee profile for the Attendee Directory
Now's the time to update your profile for the Attendee Directory, so you're ready to start networking! Through MyIgnite, you can add your bio and interests, social tags and contact information to your profile, and even share your selected sessions. Rick and Joey walk you through how to update your profile, add your photo and contact information, and how to share the sessions you've added to your calendar, so you can connect with others who have similar interests. This can be a great way to network prior to the conference.

Note: The directory is an opt-in feature, and the ability to opt-in has been recently added to the registration process. So if you registered earlier, you can easily opt-in. Watch the show to learn how.

Keep watching the Countdown Show! Next week, Rick and Joey will cover more new features coming for MyIgnite. A future episode will also be devoted to the Yammer network, and how you can use it to connect further with speakers and other attendees.

Meanwhile, keep sharing your questions and suggestions on the Forums. As we get answers, we'll share them on upcoming Countdown shows!

Microsoft Ignite is May 4–8 in Chicago at McCormick Place.
