Windows 7 Crash Dump (BSOD) while playing Games

It can be any game from something like Minecraft to Battlefield 3 which causes problems for me. The first conclusion I could make was that there may be a problem with my Video card as playing high end games like BF3 can be very demanding on the average computer. I have updated drivers and tried to fix it to no end. These BSODs seem to happen at least 1-3 times a day. The crash dumps can happen both when starting up the game or while I am playing it. I don't know whether any of this information is useful or whether it is even related to what can be seen by analysing the files from sf-diagnostic. All the files needed should be attached.

Re: Frequent BSODs on startup

I asked a moderator to merge your 2 topics (so we can keep all the info in one place).

This is starting to look like a hardware problem.
There's a few 3rd party drivers that I'm worried about that we should deal with first:

Have you replaced the Virtu drivers as I asked in a previous post?

Please un-install the AsRock XFast USB package.

Please un-install your audio drivers, then install the latest version available from Realtek here: Link Removed

Have you updated your wireless drivers? They still date from 2009. If you have, please provide a link to the drivers that you used.

The WinPcap packet capture library dates from 2009/2010 - please remove it for testing purposes. Once the...
Please remove the AsRock AppCharger application. These types of applications are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems. If needed, feel free to install the latest, Win7 compatible version once the system is stabilized (when the BSOD's stop).

Microsoft Security Essentials and Advanced System Care are both installed. Please only use one anti-virus and one firewall at a time. IN this case, we've seen problems with Advanced System Care in the past so I'd suggest removing it.

Please un-install MSI Afterburner. It (along with Riva Tuner and EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's in some Win7 systems. If overclocking, please remove any overclock and return the system to stock (non-overclocked values) while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system is stabilized.

XFastLAN XFast USB have been known to cause BSOD's, please un-install these applications. This was seen in one of the BSOD's and one of it's components (driver) dates from 2008 (before Win7 was released).

VIRTU (older versions) have been known to cause BSOD's. This was seen in one of the BSOD's. Please update to the latest version available from here: Link Removed due to 404 Error If you have the latest version, please uninstall it and then install a fresh copy. You may also want to do the same with the video drivers (Intel and AMD) in case of corruption in them.

Wireless drivers date from 2009, please update them from the wireless device manufacturer's website.

Frequent BSODs on startup

When starting up my desktop will usually be met with a BSOD either while it is starting up or a few minutes after I logged in. I had previously had problems with Blue screens while playing games and posted about it Link Removed. If I do manage to log on most of the time some of start up programs come up as saying that they are not working such as Catalyst control center.

That seemed to have fixed it by installing new drivers but now the problems have shown up at a much larger degree and doesn't seem to be anything to do with any programs I am running. I am not sure whether this is malware or not. The problems seem to have arisen when I found out that both VGA and DVI cables were plugged in, I then removed the VGA cable as it was not needed.

Info on these drivers is here:
Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

From the errors and from your description I suspect something is slowly failing. The most likely culprit is your hard drive. I would also suggest backing up your information IMMEDIATELY - as there's no telling when/if the hard drive will die completely.
