Playstation 3 and PC gamers remain in the dark as Bethesda Software released an update for Fallout: New Vegas: the sequel to the roleplaying game of the year, Fallout 3. This new downloadable content (DLC) pack is available for Xbox 360 gamers only.

Dead Money is an expansion to Fallout New Vegas which adds new content, items, perks, quests, and achievements. It was released on December 21, 2010 exclusively for Xbox. The expansion is used by loading a save immediately prior to the end-game sequence and does not unlock the end game like the final Broken Steel DLC did for Fallout 3. This is likely because the NPC scripting might not make too much sense depending on the ending you create for the game.

Complete details about this first addition to what is likely going to yield epic expansion packs can be found here: Dead Money - The Vault, the Fallout wiki - Fallout: New Vegas and more

Future DLCs are very possible, but this one has left many gamers scratching their heads as to when a PC or PS3 DLC will be available.

"We're excited to continue the partnership between Bethesda and Microsoft, and build on the success of the game add-ons released for Fallout 3 on Xbox Live," said Bethesda's Pete Hines. "Fans will once again be able to continue their experience in the Fallout universe with the add-on packs planned for after the launch of the game."

Some individuals have put two and two together from the new DLC, indicating more content may be on the way: Link Removed

It appears that there was an exclusive DLC release for Fallout: New Vegas called "Dead Money" that was only available for Xbox 360 gamers at the time. This expansion pack introduced new content, items, perks, quests, and achievements to the game. It was released on December 21, 2010, and functioned differently from the final Broken Steel DLC in Fallout 3, as it did not unlock the end game but instead required players to load a save prior to the end-game sequence. Bethesda Software, the developer behind the Fallout series, expressed excitement about the partnership with Microsoft for the release of this DLC. There were hints at further add-on content for Fallout: New Vegas for Xbox players, but PC and PlayStation gamers were left waiting for a potential release for their platforms. The anticipation for future DLCs for Fallout: New Vegas was high among players, especially for those using PCs and PlayStation consoles. Bethesda's Pete Hines mentioned plans for add-on packs after the game's launch, hinting at the possibility of more content additions to the game in the future.
