I have Windows 7 Ultimate installed in my Acer laptop. last day i was encrypting my external Segate 1 tb hard disk with "bit locker drive encryption". It started normally, after 20%, i stopped it.
I then thought to decrypt my data back and to disable the protection. When I tried doing this, after some time my PC hanged and the operation got aborted. When I restarted my system, i found that the disk is not being detected. It is not shown in "computer",
am able to see it in device manager.
can see written when I check its properties: "This device is working properly."
I have tried connecting my drive to every USB port, even to a different system running Windows 7 Ultimate. But the same problem persists.
I just uninstalled the drivers of my hard disk (from device manager itself), removed it and then reconnected. The drivers started to install. They installed successfully, but my bad luck, it didn't worked either. The harddisk is still invisible in "Computer".
device manager volume showing blue color in upper part rest of them in white space with available memory. not showing “healthy”
When I try to update my device drivers, it shows " the best drivers are already installed."
although the disk lights were on.
My hard disk is absolutely fine and OK. There is no problem with hardware and no virus is there in my PC as well. What to do now? How can i get my data back , since this data worths me a lot.
please help me
please..............

Solution
It seems like you are facing issues with your Seagate external hard disk after attempting to encrypt and then decrypt it using BitLocker on your Windows 7 Ultimate system. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially recover your data:

    ]Repair File System:
    • In Disk Management, check the status of the disk. If it shows as "Raw," you might need to repair the file system:
      • Right-click on the disk and choose the option to "Change Drive Letter and Paths," then select "Add" or "Change" to assign a new drive letter.
    []Data Recovery Software:
    • If the above steps don't work, you can try using data recovery software like Recuva, EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, or TestDisk to attempt to recover your files.
    [
    ]Check for BitLocker Issues:
    • Sometimes BitLocker issues can cause drive visibility problems. Ensure that BitLocker is properly disabled on the drive.
    []Check for Errors:
    • Run a disk check utility to look for and repair any errors that might be causing the drive to be inaccessible.

      Data Recovery Software:

      • EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard: This software is user-friendly and effective for recovering lost or deleted files.
      • Recuva: A popular choice for recovering deleted files.
      • TestDisk: An open-source tool that can help recover lost partitions and make non-booting disks bootable again.

      Important Note:

      [
    • ]It's crucial to stop using the drive immediately to prevent data overwriting, which can make data recovery more challenging. Try following these steps to see if you can recover your data successfully. If the issue persists or if you need further assistance, feel free to reach out for more help.
