Newer versions often contain bug fixes and better compatibility with newer operating systems. 3. Configuration: - Check the configuration settings of ffdshow to ensure that it is set up correctly. You may need to configure it to work with the specific media player you are using (PowerDVD9 or Windows Media Player). 4. Codec Conflicts: - There might be conflicts with other installed codecs or media players. Try uninstalling any conflicting codecs or media players that might interfere with ffdshow. 5. Reinstall FFDShow: - Try uninstalling both the x86 and x64 versions of ffdshow completely, then reinstall only the version meant for your system architecture. Ensure you follow the installation instructions carefully. 6. Test with Different Media Players: - Try using ffdshow with a different media player to see if the issue is specific to PowerDVD9 or Windows Media Player. VLC Media Player is a popular choice for testing codecs. 7. Logs or Error Messages: - Check for any error messages or logs that ffdshow generates. This information can help pinpoint the issue and guide troubleshooting efforts. 8. Compatibility Mode: - You can try running the ffdshow installer or the media player in compatibility mode.
