Here's a couple of tools that will save you many hours on a clean install of Win 7:

1. SIW - Run this little program to save an HTML page full of info about your current Windows install; most importantly, it shows you all the software installed on your PC. Get it here
2. Unknown Device Identifier - Can help you identify any hardware that Windows 7 doesn't automatically setup for you. Get it here.
