Hi all!

I have some problems with installing ghostscript for GIMP. After standard installation for Windows I follow the instruction (which worked for Vista) to make GIMP recognize installed ghostscript. They were to set an environment variable GS_PROG with full path to the location of the gswin32c.exe file. Unfortunatelly this doesn't work for me in Windows 7.
Any ideas how I can fix it?

Solution
To resolve the issue with installing Ghostscript for GIMP on Windows 7 and make sure GIMP recognizes the installed Ghostscript, you can try the following steps:
  1. Check Ghostscript Installation:
    • Ensure that Ghostscript is correctly installed on your Windows 7 system.
    • Verify the installation path where gswin32c.exe is located.
    []Set Environment Variable:
    • Instead of setting the environment variable globally for GS_PROG, you can try setting it directly in GIMP:
      • Open GIMP.
      • Go to Edit > Preferences.
      • In the Preferences window, navigate to "Folders" and expand it.
      • Select "Ghostscript".
      • Enter the full path to the gswin32c.exe executable in the "Ghostscript executable" field.

    ]Check Path Variable:
    • Ensure that the directory containing gswin32c.exe is added to the system's PATH environment variable.
    • This can help GIMP locate the Ghostscript executable without explicitly setting the GS_PROG variable.
    []Restart GIMP:
    • After making these changes, close and reopen GIMP to allow the changes to take effect.
    [
    ]Verify Configuration:
    • To confirm if GIMP now recognizes Ghostscript:
      • Open GIMP.
      • Try using features that require Ghostscript, such as opening PDF files. By following these steps, you should be able to configure Ghostscript properly for GIMP on Windows 7. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, feel free to ask for help!
