After playing around with a friends mac, I actually found the green plus button (zoom to fit or whatever its called) pretty useful.
So I was just wondering if there is any software or anything I can do to get this functionality to replace the maximize button. If there was a way to add a forth button, that'd be great; however I'm fine replacing the maximize button for a zoom-to-fit button because I find myself using aero-snap to resize windows 9 out 10 times.
Thanks for the help if anyone can.

To replicate the functionality of the green plus button found on macOS, which often toggles between a standard window size and a more optimized size for content viewing, you can try some options on Windows to achieve a similar experience. Here are a couple of methods you can consider:

1. Using Third-Party Software:

  • BetterDesktopTool: This software provides various window management tools, including a "Zoom" function that allows you to resize windows to fit the content. It can work as an alternative to the maximize button. You can configure the behavior of this tool to fit your preference.
  • WindowGrid: Another utility that enables you to easily resize and arrange windows on your desktop. While it doesn't...

    2. Custom Scripting:

  • You can create custom scripts using AutoHotkey to achieve a similar functionality. AutoHotkey allows you to automate tasks and create hotkeys for different actions, including window resizing.

    3. Windows Keyboard Shortcuts:

  • Windows Key + Up Arrow: This keyboard shortcut maximizes the active window.
  • Windows Key + Down Arrow: Restores or minimizes the active window.
  • Windows Key + Left/Right Arrow: Snaps the active window to the left or right half of the screen. These methods can help you enhance window management on Windows and achieve a more streamlined experience similar to what you experienced on macOS. Feel free to explore these options and see which one fits your workflow best.
