When I look at my C drive in properties windows is telling me i have used 168 GB of my 200 GB hard drive. This is impossible as i did a clean install and only transfered about 38 GB of data back to the computer. Does anyone know what is going on or how to fix it?

Hello and welcome.

Did you install the 64-bit edition?

Go to Start > Run, and type diskmgmt.msc and report back with the drive letters and space reported.

Also look for a folder called c:\windows.old and delete it.

windows.old

windows.old is definately the problem, now i was just curious if there was anyway to install the programs in there without installing from the disk, such as just copying the program file folder over and finding a setup program, specifically for office 2007

thanks for the earlier tip
