I have been having this problem on my Win 7, when the notification says for eg: adobe flash has a new update, download?
When i click yes, it straight goes to MS word document. I go to the link inside and it says unable to connect. How to solve this? On windows xp it wasn't like that, it would immediately link to the site. This happens when i tried to get a newer version of other programs too like Microsoft excel and youtube downloader.

Look forward to someone's response. Thanks!

Solution
-Open the Control Panel
-If your view is Category, click Programs, then Default Programs
-If your view is Icons, click Default Programs
-Click on Set your default programs
-Select IE from the program list and click on Choose defaults for this program
-Look for any items on the list that have Word set as the default and put a check mark in the box next to them
-Click Save
-Click OK

Try and open links to see if they open properly.
Yes I have done that, thank you. This has happened again when i saw an icon: solve PC issues and it was to get a new version of Messenger live plus. Clicked the button go to the website, just went right to MS word! Frustrating.

I run Trend micro internet security, which came with this computer and is updated didn't uncover any malware. Can anyone explain why and the solution to this problem?
Thank you!
