Oh hi, I just want to know if there is a way to disable the automatic process priority in Windows 7. Every time I open an intensive CPU application, the priority of the process is set to lowest automatically, even if a set it again to Normal. This is affecting the performance of my applications dramatically and i can notice it because when i change the priority to normal the application runs fine for a few seconds before is changed automatically to lowest again. So, is there a way to set process priority rules or something in Windows 7 or anyone know some application that can do that?

Solution
To prevent Windows 7 from automatically changing the process priority, you can use the Task Manager or a third-party tool. Here's how you can manage process priority:

Using Task Manager:

  1. Open Task Manager:
    • Right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager or press Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
    []Change Process Priority:
    • Go to the Details tab.
    • Right-click on the process, go to Set Priority and choose the level you want (e.g., Normal).

      Third-Party Tools:

If you prefer automated or customized process priority management, you can use tools like Process Lasso or Prio.

  2. Install and Configure:
    • After installation, right-click on any process in Task Manager to set priority.
    • It offers quick access to set process priorities.
These tools provide more control and flexibility over process management to avoid unwanted changes in process priorities by the operating system. Choose the tool that fits your requirements based on ease of use and features.
