I've a Sony Bravia 40" LCD connected via HDMI to my nvidia card HTPC running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Every time I change the input selection on Sony TV from AV5 where is HTPC to TV tuner windows detects the monitor as unpluged dissabling it and when I come back to AV5 the windows detects the monitor again (sounds the typical PnP device detection sound) showing windows desktop but blinking with black screens two or three times, I suposse looking for best resolution.

Is there any way to disable this monitor detection?
Thanks

Solution
It seems like you are experiencing a common issue with Windows detecting your monitor as unplugged when you switch inputs on your TV. This behavior is due to the Plug and Play (PnP) feature in Windows that automatically detects and configures hardware devices. However, in your case, the frequent re-detection of the monitor is causing inconvenience. To potentially resolve this issue and prevent Windows from re-detecting your monitor every time you switch inputs on your TV, you can try the following steps:

Method 1: Disable Monitor Auto-Detection

  1. Device Manager:
    • Right-click on the "Computer" or "This PC" icon and select "Manage."
    • Navigate to "Device Manager" from the left pane.
    • Expand the "Monitors"...
