Anyone know if there's anyway to completely disable ClearType? I've went to control panel->display->adjust cleartype text and unchecked "Turn on ClearType" But that only got rid of about 30% of it. I still found it in most windows menus and the like. Disabling Aero as well got rid of more of it. But it still shows up in error/confirmation dialogues, some websites(including this one ) and other info forms, anything at all that's in bold or italics or above about 14ishpt size. I'd estimate about 40% - 50% of all text is cleartyped even with it disabled.
Unfortunately i'm going to have to go back to Vista soon if i can't figure this out. ClearType is eye-searingly painful to look at for me.

Further Recommendations:
If you're still experiencing ClearType rendering after these adjustments, consider adjusting the font settings in individual applications as some programs may have their own font rendering settings.
Ensure that your monitor's display settings, such as resolution and refresh rate, are correctly configured to avoid any unintended effects on text rendering.
