I downloaded Superantispyware.com on my netbook with Windows 7 starter.
The security center notes that windows defender real time is turned off which is correct.

There is a button to scan for other antivirus programs. However, windows 7 will not recognize my antivirus software. How do I correct this?

Thanks.

Hi

SuperAntiSpyware is not an antivirus program.
It is an Anti Malware program and it isn't exactly the same thing.

If you want to run a free antivirus program you need something like AVG 2011 free addition, (which is what I use) or Avira, or something like that.

AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011 - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

Once it is installed Windows will recognize it as antivirus software, and it will show up in Security Center. It will update it'self and run a daily scan automatically.

I've found AVG to be reliable and not require much attention once it is installed and set up but many people are happy with Avira as well.
