I like to see a stock by using the name of the stock or its code and would like to be able to lock in for example:
(LGCY Google Stock) so that up pops the Google Stock Screen with the information. I do not like the Yahoo screen because it does not give me all the information I want to see. Although I have Win 10, I use Win 7 to view my stock choices.

Solution
To quickly look up and view stock information directly from Windows 7 without using Yahoo finance, you can use the built-in Windows Search functionality in combination with a web search engine such as Google. Here's how you can achieve this:
  1. Creating a Windows Search Shortcut:
    • Go to your desktop or a folder where you want to create the shortcut.
    • Right-click and select "New" > "Shortcut".
    • In the location field, enter the URL for Google Finance. The format should be similar to https://www.google.com/finance?q=STOCK_SYMBOL where you replace STOCK_SYMBOL with the actual stock code or name.
    • Name the shortcut accordingly, for example, "Google Stock Search".

    • Whenever you want to look up stock information:
      • Press the Windows key on your keyboard to open the Start menu.
      • Start typing the name of your shortcut ("Google Stock Search").
      • Press Enter to launch the shortcut.
      • Enter the stock symbol or name at the end of the URL to search for the specific stock information. For example, https://www.google.com/finance?q=LGCY for LGCY.

    ]Viewing Stock Information:
    • This will open your default web browser and perform a Google Finance search for the specified stock.
    • Google Finance typically provides a comprehensive overview of stock information, graphs, news, and related market data. By following these steps, you can quickly access stock information for specific companies using Google Finance directly from your Windows 7 system. This approach allows you to tailor the stock information you view based on your preferences and the level of detail you require.
