When I open (under 64bit Win7) the

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center

then I have currently 3 Networks listed:

Network 3
Network 2
Unidentified Network

How excatly can I rename these network names e.g. to "myNetwork123"?

Is it possible at all?

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center>

(or right click Network activity icon>Open Network and Sharing Center>)

In second pane down "View your activate networks" Click on the computer icon.

The look for hyper link that says "View or merge network locations.

In that area you should be able to merge /delete rename, etc as needed.
