Windows 7 I have a problem of finding my files after installation

Dear firends,

I had uploaded W7 premium oem version on my pc yesterday. I was previously using Vista Home premium preinstalled in my laptop. after the OS got installed i lost my all documents of vista, as of i was not able to find it. i lost my all installed softwares also. so i opted for factory settings and i have lost all my files. I know im a nut. But is it possible that i can retrieve my files and how can i do it. Tycoons please help me, as the files were very important for my family.

Did you upgrade or clean install ? Did you format your Vista partition ?

Check in c:\users\ and in Vista.old directory.

When you don't need those old vista files anymore, you may want to do disk cleanup:

Computer > Right click drive C > Properties > General tab > Disk cleanup > old.windows files
