Ilunion, a leading consultancy firm specializing in inclusion and diversity, has achieved a significant milestone by saving over 7,000 hours annually in its legal department through the implementation of Microsoft 365 Copilot AI agents. This advancement is part of Ilunion's broader digital transformation initiative, aimed at enhancing productivity and fostering accessible work environments.
The legal team at Ilunion, responsible for managing more than 2,000 legal proceedings each year, has integrated an AI agent named "Litigator," developed using Microsoft's Agent Builder on the Microsoft 365 Copilot platform. This agent has dramatically reduced the time required for initial case analyses to approximately 40 seconds per case. José Luis Barceló, director of the legal department at Ilunion, emphasized the strategic importance of this technological integration, stating, "We faced the challenge of transforming the legal department into a strategic business partner. A fundamental element of this process was technology. We developed the Litigator agent, which has become the main daily assistant for Ilunion litigation lawyers. Once again, technology serves inclusion as a barrier-removing tool and a generator of equal conditions." (news.microsoft.com)
Beyond the legal department, Ilunion has expanded the use of Microsoft 365 Copilot across various business areas to automate repetitive tasks and enhance creativity within applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. This widespread adoption underscores the firm's commitment to leveraging AI to improve operational efficiency and accessibility.
With a workforce where over 16,000 employees have disabilities, Ilunion's focus on AI and digital transformation is particularly significant. The firm's Chief Information Officer, Juan Manuel Caballero, highlighted the shared objectives with Microsoft regarding accessibility, noting, "With Microsoft, we share common goals around accessibility. With the Ilunion programme, employees are already proactively asking us to use AI. We’re starting to develop agents; we have 10 in production. The time will come when these agents can talk to each other, in an unattended relationship that will help us be more efficient, more productive and improve our customer service." (news.microsoft.com)
Ilunion's proactive approach to integrating AI agents into its operations exemplifies how technology can be harnessed to create more inclusive and efficient workplaces. By focusing on accessibility and productivity, the firm sets a precedent for other organizations aiming to leverage AI for social and operational benefits.
