The minute-long video charts the dog's comic devastation as his owner teases him with the news that he's snaffled all of his favourite type ('the maple kind') of bacon.
Worse news then comes as it emerges the pooch's feline house buddy has also been getting in on the good stuff (while our canine friend has been off doing other things, presumably).
With the straightforward caption 'Dogs... Love.... Food', the clip was uploaded to YouTube on May 1 and has racked up 4,996,646 views, 51,631 'likes' and 489 'dislikes' in the five days since then.
Users of the video-sharing hub have been lapping it up, with many predicting its views will hit the 10m before the month is out.
'Thumbs up if this made your day,' was the comment left by Blueicechips360, while Drummer553 posted: 'SWEEEEEEET.'
'My mind is blown, that dog actually talks,' is the musing by LiverpoolxC that had us nodding vigorously in agreement.
'I want that dog!' chipped in MrMegabananen, and reeft had this to say: 'Like how he shudder when he hears him saying "BEEF!"'
