Hi, I'm using a VAIO VGN-CS36GJ laptop and I can't install Win7 on this machine.
Once I use my bootable disc and goes to the installation of Win7, an error saying that "no device driver could be found" error always appears. I don't know how to deal with this. Any helps please on how I might solve this issue?

It seems like you are encountering an issue while trying to install Windows 7 on your VAIO VGN-CS36GJ laptop where you are prompted with a "no device driver could be found" error during the installation process. This issue typically occurs when the installer cannot find the necessary drivers for the storage device in your laptop. Here are some steps you can take to address this problem: 1. Check BIOS Settings: - Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS settings (usually by pressing a key like F2, F10, or Del during boot). - Look for any settings related to SATA operation mode (AHCI, IDE, RAID). - Try changing the SATA operation mode to see if it helps. AHCI mode is generally recommended. 2. USB Installation: - If you are using a DVD for installation, try creating a bootable USB drive instead. Sometimes, DVD drives can cause issues. - You can use tools like Rufus to create a bootable USB drive with the Windows 7 installation files. 3. Load Drivers: - If you have the specific drivers for your storage device (SATA controller) from the manufacturer's website, you can load them during the Windows 7 installation process. - When the error message appears, you should have an option to load drivers. You can then browse to the location of your drivers (usually on a USB drive) and select them. 4. Driver Integration: - Another approach is to integrate the necessary drivers into the Windows 7 installation media before starting the installation. - Tools like RT Seven Lite or NTLite can help you integrate drivers into the installation image. 5. Compatibility Mode: - Try running the Windows 7 installer in compatibility mode. Right-click on the setup.exe or installation file and select "Run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista" or an earlier version. 6. Update BIOS: - Ensure that your laptop's BIOS is up to date. Sometimes, BIOS updates can address compatibility issues. 7. External DVD Drive: - If you suspect an issue with the laptop's internal DVD drive, try using an external USB DVD drive for the installation. Try these steps to see if they resolve the issue you are facing during the Windows 7 installation on your VAIO laptop. Remember to backup any important data before making changes to your system.
