Iinstalled a newly purchased w7 professional on an older computer, upgrading from xp - yes I followed all the instructions. after installation I went on line and registered the product. It worked for about 5 hours when i shut the computer off for the night. the next morning when I booted the computer, it worked for about 2 minutes then died. I believe this was coincidence. I purchased a new computer today that has w7 home on it. I want to wipe out w7 home and install w7 pro, is it legal/permissable to do this on the new computer?

Thanks

Bill

As long as your copy of Windows 7 Pro is legal then yes, it is permissable to do this.. The best way to do this would be via a clean install.. ;) This is when you format the HDD (or just the partition with the old Windows 7 installation on it) and install Windows 7 Pro on the newly formatted partition.. This method of installation gives you a nice clean fresh install of Windows 7 and should result in very little to no problems at all.. :) Hope this helps.
